THE OVERLORD EMBROIDERY: THE STORY OF THE NORMANDY LANDINGS, D-DAY 6TH JUNE 1944

Inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry, the Overlord Embroidery traces in stunning visual form the progress of Overlord, from its origins in the dark days of 1940 to victory in Normandy in 1944. 34 embroidered panels each 2.4 metres long and 0.9 metres deep were designed and were subsequently created at The Royal School of Needlework. The panels are now part of the permanent exhibit at the D-day Museum in Portsmouth. The book pictures each panel with a description.
