WWII by the US Army Eighth Air Force. Maps locate each

Operation Overlord was a watershed in the history of World War II.
Neglected by historians, American glider pilots played a pivotal
role in Operation Neptune, the assault phase of Overlord. From being
called up in the US, to combat landings and fighting in the Normandy
countryside, the author uses documents and eyewitness accounts to
tell the story of these brave men who flew the gliders which
transported troops onto the field of battle.

A Russian language (Cyrillic text) volume describing the Battle
of Navarino which was fought on 20 October, 1827, during the Greek
War of Independence in Navarino Bay in the Ionian Sea. An Ottoman
and Egyptian armada was destroyed by a combined British, French
and Russian naval force. It is notable for being the last major
naval battle in history fought entirely with sailing ships. The
Allied ships were better armed than their opponents, and their
crews were better trained, contributing to a complete victory. A
loose insert provides English translations by Craig Martelle, of
the picture captions and tables.

(Cyrillic text) volume describing the Battle of Chesme took place
on 5-7 July, 1770 in Chesme Bay, in the area between Asia Minor

battles between Turkey and Venice. It was part of the Orlov Revolt
of 1769, a precursor to the later Greek War of Independence
(1821-29), and the first of a number of disastrous fleet battles
for Turkey against Russia. A loose insert provides English
translations by Craig Martelle, of the picture captions.

Lucas's analysis of German Special Forces operations in WWII.
Undercover and other special operations, conceived and executed
with ruthless thoroughness, won the Germans some stunning
victories against all odds. Specially trained SS
agents-provocateurs laid the ground for the German invasions of
Czechoslovakia and Poland. This book tells the complete story,
including the Brandenburgers, the the navy's K-Men, the
SS-Kommando-GB, and the children of the Werewolves and the
Hitler Youth, trained in murderous partisan warfare.
