A comprehensive history of the legendary Vulcan bomber. Originally
designed as a deep penetration, high altitude nuclear weapon
delivery vehicle, one of the RAF's triumvirate of 'V-Bombers'
(together with the Valiant and the Victor), the Vulcan
metamorphasised into the low level role, both nuclear and
conventional. It became a tanker as well as a bomber and, in both of
these roles, it delivered the famous 'Black Buck' attacks on Port
Stanley during the 1982 Falklands War.

An extensively
illustrated study on the famed Schmeisser Maschinen Pistole or
submachine gun. The gun evolved from automatic close combat
weapons used during the trench warfare of World War One, the first
being Hugo Schmeisser's MP18. In fact the MP38 and MP40 models
used extensively by German forces in World War Two had nothing to
do with Hugo or his son, Louis, being manufactured by Erfurter
Maschinenfabrik B. Giepel GmbH. This monograph looks at
development of the 'Schmeisser' from the MP18 through to the MP49
model.

PANZER TRACTS NO. 23: PANZER PRODUCTION FROM 1933
TO 1945
by Thomas L Jentz & Hilary Louis Doyle
After forty years of research, The Panzer Tracts team have
compiled a record of how many Panzers by model were produced by
each assembly plant. Starting in February 1939, the Waffenamt kept
consolidated records of monthly production but these are of
limited value when more than one assembly plant was involved. The
additional details needed to determine the number produced for
each model were derived from assembly plant production records,
analysis of chassis numbers and the code letters for each assembly
plant which were stamped on serial number plates. As usual text
and data are based solely on primary sources.
The River Rhine represented the last natural defensive barrier
for the Third Reich in the autumn of 1944. Although Hitler had
been reluctant to allow the construction of tactical defence lines
in France, the final defense of the Reich was another matter. As a
result, construction of a Rhine defence line began in September
1944. Zaloga examines the multiple phases of construction
undertaken to strengthen the Westwall (Siegfried Line), to fortify
many border villages, and finally to prepare for the demolition of
the Rhine bridges. Using detailed maps, colour artwork, and expert
analysis, this book takes a detailed look at Germany’s last line
of defence.
