A Combat History of Operation Citadel, Kursk, July 1943. After
the defeat at Stalingrad, Hitler had lost his momentum and was
looking for a way to regain it. Operation Citadel was intended to
fulfil that objective. If successful a number of Soviet armies would
be destroyed and the front line shortened, allowing a chance to
rebuild Germany's exhausted reserves. This book provides
comprehensive coverage of the operational events on both salients,
and includes critical analysis of both sides that points out errors
of judgment that had an important impact on campaign results. The
book is highly annotated to give the reader additional sources to
study and to provide additional perspectives.

RUSSIAN EYEWITNESS ACCOUNTS
OF THE CAMPAIGN OF 1814
by Alexander Mikaberidze
Russia played a
decisive role in the Napoleonic wars, and over the last 200
years, the Napoleonic era has been discussed and analysed in
numerous studies. Many of these fail to fully portray the
Russian side of events due to the relative scarcity of Russian
sources in English and this book seeks to fill this gap. Defeat
at Leipzig in 1813 had driven Napoleon back across the borders
of France, and in January 1814 the Russians, Austrians,
Prussians and their other German allies stood poised to cross
the Rhine. The book is the first to bring together dozens of
letter, diaries and memoirs of Russian participants of the 1814
Campaign.
by Colonel Dmitriy Loza. Translated by James F. Gebhardt
The author commanded a Sherman equipped tank battalion in the
Red Army in WWII. He saw action in the Ukraine, Romania,
Hungary, Czechoslavakia and Austria, 1943-45, taking part in the
actions at Kosum-Shevenkoviy, Jassey, Bupapest, Vienna and
Prague. In the later stages of the war formations of the 6th
Guards Tank Army were moved east to spearhead the Soviet attacks
on Japanese forces in Manchuria. In May, 1946 Loza was awarded
the USSR's highest decoration for valor, being made a Hero of
the Soviet Union for his actions in the battle for Vienna.

The exploits of this iconic Nazi illuminate the Third Reich’s
ideology and machinery of mass murder. A hawk-faced Aryan poster
boy who fended off false rumors of Jewish ancestry, Reinhard
Heydrich oversaw the Gestapo, played a key role in formulating
the Final Solution, and organized the Einsatzgruppen death
squads that murdered hundreds of thousands of Jews during WWII.
Heydrich embraced SS chief, Heinrich Himmler’s racial theories
and his ethos of ruthless, Darwinian struggle against Germany’s
enemies. This fine study shows in chilling detail, how genocide
emerged from the practicalities of implementing a demented
belief system.
