TIGERS OF THE DEATH'S HEAD

by Ian Michael Wood

This volume follows one of Nazi Germany's most famous and feared units, 3-SS Panzer Division, known as Totenkopf or the Deaths Head. Initially formed from a cadre of concentration camp guards, the division saw combat service in the campaign for France in 1940 and the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. The book focuses on the 9th Company of the 3rd Panzer Regiment, the only unit in the division to be equipped with Tiger tanks. The company used their Tigers to devastating effect starting with the Battle of Kursk.

NO ORDINARY WAR: THE EVENTFUL CAREER OF U-604

by Christian Prag

U-604 was a standard Type VIIC U-Boat of which over 600 were built. Her six war patrols might seem typical - but they were far from ordinary. This book is a detailed account of her actions during some of the fiercest convoy battles of the Atlantic war. U-604's successes included inflicting the largest single loss of US mercantile personnel in one attack, however, the drama of her career pales alongside the epic story of her loss. Based on interviews with survivors and illustrated with previously unpublished photos, this is simply an extraordinary story.
