An illustrated history of the FW 190D Series covering the
development of those variants of the Fw 190 powered by inline
engines. Production of the Fw 190C, D and the Ta 153 was delayed
by the German air ministry, and not until 1944 did the Fw 190D-9,
powered by the Jumo 213A, enter production. It was an immediate
success and quickly entered Luftwaffe service with more than 1,700
examples being completed by the end of the war. The D-9 gave rise
to a number of improved variants with the more powerful Jumo 213F
engine and heavier armament, however only a handful of the D-11
and D-13 versions were completed.

An extensively illustrated study of
Hitler's V-1 Terror Weapon. The author examines its development
from inception in 1939, test firings from Peenemunde and the
commencement of attacks on London and Southern England during
1944 - over 500 were launched between May and June alone. The
book also covers the launching equipment and bunkers, manned and
air-launched versions and contains details of production,
including that at Nordhausen. This was in an underground factory
called Mittelwerk which was excavated beneath Kohnstein Mountain
in the Hartz range. Labour was provided by slave workers from
nearby concentration camps.

Much
has been written about the
capture of Fort Eben Emael,
Belgium by German
paratroopers, on May 10th,
1940. The operation involved
the first use of gliders,
shaped charges, and
paratroopers dropping behind
enemy lines. They were part
of a larger group: The
Sturmablteilung Koch, the
elite of the Luftwaffe,
whose mission was not only
to take Eben Emael, but also
the three bridges over the
Alberto canal: Veldwezelt,
Vroenhoven and Kanne. The
success of the German
attacks on Belgium and
France would depend on the
rapid conquest of those
bridges.

Subtitled 'Morale Under Attack?' this is a Celebration of
Squaddie Humour. A Comical Compilation of British Military
Humour contributed by military personnel from the British Army,
Navy and Air Force, some of the descriptions of the mad, bad and
dangerous antics of servicemen on and off duty, are enough to
scare the living daylights out of the average civilian, whilst
others would cause even a hardened RSM to blush - but they will
all be recognised as true to life by anyone who has served in
the armed forces.
