PANZER LEHR DIVISION 1944-45:
WWII GERMAN MILITARY STUDIES VOLUME 1
by Dr. Frederick P. Steinhardt
Panzer Lehr was one of the most elite German armoured
formations in early 1944. Although suffering heavy losses in the
Normandy bocage, the Division fought in North-West Europe until
the end of the war, seeing service during the Ardennes Offensive
and in the Ruhr. This first volume has an extensive number of
reports by former officers, principally its commander Fritz
Bayerlein. Virtually all of these reports have remained
unpublished since they were written soon after the end of WWII.
A number of the reports include detailed order-of-battle and
other organisational data and numerous of situation maps are
also featured.
