An extremely scarce and collectible set of this Classic
study of the Me 262. Assisted by five other contributors
as well as three illustrators, Smith and Creek have
covered every facet of the development, deployment and
demise of the Schwalbe in incredible detail. Each book
averages 220 pages with approximately 300 photographs
(many in color) and most previously unpublished. There
are appendices, covering such topics as Camouflage and
Markings, Luftwaffe Units, Messerschmitt Personalities
and Company Organization, plus facsimiles of the Pilot's
Operating Instructions. The books feature excellent
color profile and oblique images of various Me-262 color
schemes by illustrator Tom Tullis, many on oversize
foldout pages. Operational experiences are thoroughly
documented, as are the multitude of design proposals for
proposed variants which were never built.
