A very scarce, hardcover edition of Lt. Col. Ronald L.
Lane's account of the U.S. Second Ranger Battalion's
D-Day assault on Omaha Beach and the German strongpoint
of Pointe du Hoc, which involved the scaling of the
100ft cliffs from the beach. The Battalion's combat
operations were under the command of Lt. Col. James Earl
Rudder who was wounded twice during the engagement, yet
remained in action. The Rangers suffered over 50 percent
casualties on the first day of the invasion of France.
The book is illustrated with drawings by Finnish artist Reijo Mäkelä and is signed by three members of 2nd
Ranger Battallion.
