Somerset J. Gough Calthorpe who witnessed the war, and with the
watercolours of Cadogan who, as a Colonel was on active service at
the battles of Alma, Balaklava and Inkerman as well as the siege
of Sevastopol. The text is an abridged version of Calthorpe's
"Letters From Headquarters" first published in 1856.
